How does Termite Baiting work?

Termite baiting and monitoring systems in Brisbane are just as effective as a chemical treatment and involve strategically placing baiting stations around your property or on any areas where active termites have been discovered, then periodically checking them for activity. Wherever termite activity is found, the monitoring devices in the stations will be replaced with termite bait, unless there are active termites in which case the stations are installed already containing termite bait. Termites ingest the bait and carry it to the colony where they share it with other termites, which eliminates the termite colony.

Once a colony is eliminated or controlled, monitoring will continue to protect your home against new termite activity.

What are the different baits that we use?

Cure All Pest Control use primarily;

Sentricon
Sentricon AG Termite Bait is a highly advanced, scientifically proven, commercially tried and tested method of termite control in Brisbane that will eliminate the whole colony in a non-invasive, and environmentally responsible manner that poses no threat to you, your family or pets.

Once termites are detected, they are baited using Sentricon AG Termite Bait. Termites feed aggressively on the cellulose content of the bait, which is loaded with a chemical that is toxic to termites. As the termites feed on the bait, they will establish the bait station as a preferred feeding site. Because of the social structure and behaviour patterns of termites, the chemical is easily transferred to all other termites back at the colony. Once infected, it is only a matter of time before the colony is eliminated, with infected termites returning to the nest via their tunnels unaware that they are about to be the cause of their own demise.

Sentricon AG Termite Bait is the result of extensive research and testing by Dow AgroSciences, the world leader in termite control and management solutions.

Exterra
Exterra is a technically advanced system of termite baiting in Brisbane that uses a termite baiting material, Requiem, which is non-toxic to humans and mammals. It is mixed with water and only put in place when there are active termites. Requiem is an insect growth regulator (IGR) which inhibits the production of chitin which is necessary to produce the hard outer skin of termites. Termites must shed their skin (moult) in order to grow. Requiem is consumed by the worker termites who pass it on to each termite that they feed. As a result the termites die at their next moult as they are unable to produce chitin to form their outer skin.
